The Christmas Joy offering is one of four special offerings of the PCUSA. Although the Joy offering has been around for many years, it is rooted in the 300-year-old tradition of assistance embodied in the connectional church at its best. It is not supported by dues, but by voluntary gifts.

In 2017, the assistance program distributed grants for a total of more than $5 million to qualifying PCUSA pastors, missionaries, other church workers and their families. In addition, the fund supports PCUSA racial ethnic schools and colleges such as Johnson C. Smith University, Knoxville College, Menaul School, Presbyterian Pan American School and Skillman College.

They give a “second chance” to qualified men and women who emerge as leaders in society. This is the third part of the Joy offering. Racial Ethnic Leadership Development which identifies equips and connects racial ethnic women and men, who are teaching and ruling elders, with leadership opportunities in the PCUSA.

This year, the ushers have envelopes in the Narthex. Next year, the Christmas Joy offering will be in your envelope boxes. If you do not get envelopes, we will have extra ones for you. Thank you for considering this special offering.
